I love how powerful a message can be – how it can turn your soul upside down and that is exactly what happened this morning when I saw a new blog post from my absolute favourite blogger Colour Giggles who in turn got it from Colour Me There.
A video essay about motherhood by Katherine Center that will leave you breathless, in love, speechless and moved right down to your core!
The words that touched me the most are: “you have to be brave with your life so that others can be brave with theirs.“ – “I have to love you this fiercely so that you can feel it even after you leave for school, or even while you are asleep, or even after your childhood becomes a memory.“ and “Being a mother means having your heart-broken. And it means loving and losing and falling apart and coming back together.“
I do think that the message could go further than a mother and child, there were parts where I not only thought of Phoenix but of the people I love and have loved and have had to let go in my life, people who I have to learn to live without – just like a parent will one day have to let go and learn to live without. If you take out the word ‘mother’ in the one sentence and replace it with the word ‘human’ you will see what I mean, because everyone that comes into your life is there to either teach you something or to be taught – and that is a gift!
I am forever grateful that people have been brave enough to love me and in turn giving me bravery and strength to love fiercely
Be Brave today with your heart!
